Steps to protect your accounts

Utilize online and mobile banking services to monitor account activity:

How does Lockbox Service work?

  • Sign up for automatic security alerts via text, email or through our mobile app that inform you when certain activity occurs on your accounts, such as when your online banking password changes, when your account has been logged into or your ID has been locked out. You also can receive account balance and transaction alerts that can quickly warn you of fraud.
  • Contact us immediately if something doesn’t look right. Anything. The quicker you act, the greater the possibility we can mitigate the fraud.
  • Check your statements regularly. You can wait for your monthly statement or view up to date transactions and statements through your online or mobile banking account. And here’s a fraud tip: When you use your debit card for a credit transaction, it provides a more detailed description on your bank statement, making it easier to track your purchases monthly.

What is identity theft?

Identity theft occurs when a person acquires key parts of someone else's identifying information, such as name, address, date of birth, social security number, and mother's maiden name in order to commit fraud. Using this information, a thief may take control over financial accounts, open new accounts, purchase goods, apply for loans, credit cards, and benefits, and establish services with utilities.

Protect yourself from identity theft

  • Do not give out personal or financial information unless you initiated the call and know or trust the person with whom you are speaking
  • If you receive a telephone inquiry for information, contact your Client Service Center or Relationship Banker to verify that the call is legitimate.
  • Remove incoming mail from your postal mailbox as soon after delivery as possible and have your mail held at the Post Office if you are going to be away from home for several days.
  • Promptly notify us or visit any of our branches today or email us [email protected] for assistance to setup your account if you have a change of address.
  • Be wary of "phishing" emails. Phishing is when a scammer uses fraudulent emails or texts, or copycat websites to get you to share valuable personal information – such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, or your login IDs and passwords. Scammers use your information to steal your money or your identity or both.
  • Promptly report lost or stolen ATM, debit, and credit cards kindly email us
  • Reconcile your OCB statements as soon as you receive them and report any discrepancies promptly to our customer care email

More debit card tools now available in your mobile app

You can set up new Visa debit card controls in our mobile app that will give you a quick-response option to fight potential fraud. You can get instant alerts when your card is used or if a transaction is declined. Also, if you lose or misplace your debit card, you can quickly turn it off in the app, then turn it back on if it’s found.

These controls are a convenient way to help you manage fraud. With the mobile app, you also can:

  • Set a dollar amount and receive a notification when the card is used to purchase that amount or greater.
  • Set a transaction radius, so the card can’t be used outside of your designated geographical area.
  • Block card usage from certain merchant categories (such as entertainment, travel or contracted services), which allows you to set limits on the types of goods or services others who use the card can purchase.
